Chapter 21: What was so great about getting married? (1)
Su Qiuzi felt so ashamed of herself that she was held by He Yu for two laps, and her legs still felt a bit weak after coming down. However, thanks to that she was finally able to overcome her fear of horse riding.
He Yu dismounted from the horse and took the reins to guide her to the side. He was a very patient teacher and Junyin’s horsemanship was taught by him. After being guided for the whole morning, Su Qiuzi gradually learned some of the joys of riding a horse, even daring to ride two laps by herself by the time it was noon.
Su Qiuzi and Lian Junyin both rode happily. He Yu didn’t ride much and kept guiding her, being patient and serious throughout. This was the inherent character of a good man, and Su Qiuzi could imagine what he was like in his work. When teaching, he was still courteous, just like a simple man. After riding until noon, lunch for the trio was settled at the buffet restaurant of the horse farm. Equestrian courses, like golf courses, were an expensive form of relaxation. Their customers were naturally both wealthy and powerful.
The three had just entered the restaurant when a few British men called He Yu, presumably a partner of his. He couldn’t get away for a while. Then He Yu glanced down and asked Su Qiuzi, “Are you hungry?”
Su Qiuzi had just been introduced as his wife by He Yu. She was still listening to several people attentively at the moment and, when asked by He Yu in this way, she gave him a look and said matter-of-factly, “Nope, not hungry.”
He Yu seemed to see that she was lying and he lightly laughed. Su Qiuzi was a little shaken by his laughter, then heard He Yu said, “Yinyin should be hungry, you take her to eat first, I’ll catch up to you girls later.”
Saving her from embarrassment, Su Quizi could do nothing but nod and took Lian Junyin away after parting with several people.
Lian Junyin was indeed hungry, and people at her age got hungry fast. But there were some people there, so she was embarrassed to say it at the time. After being taken away by Su Qiuzi, she became more fond and affectionate in her heart for Su Qiuzi again.
The two grabbed their things and sat down by the restaurant window, where they could see the horse track and the artificial lake. The view was very beautiful.
“Sister-in-law, what are you going to give my brother for his birthday?” Lian Junyin asked Su Qiuzi, who was turning her head to look at the scenery.
Su Qiuzi almost choked on a mouthful of almond tofu and barely swallowed it. She glanced back at Lian Junyin, who was looking at her doubtfully.
“You don’t know my brother’s birthday, do you?” Lian Junyin hit the nail on the head.
Lian Junyin didn’t know the specifics of Su Qiuzi and He Yu’s marriage. In her world, however, only people who loved each other would get married. How could people who loved each other not know the birthday of their loved ones?
Su Qiuzi laughed dryly, a little embarrassed, while Lian Junyin chuckled, “It’s November 27th, you know it now.”
The embarrassment was eased, and Su Qiuzi looked at Lian Junyin, unable to say what she felt in her heart. Lian Junyin was not even related to her by blood, she was only her half-brother’s wife, but she treated her sincerely and truly, which made Su Qiuzi’s heart very warm.
Since it was He Yu’s first birthday after they got married, as a wife, it had to be taken seriously. Although it was very important, Su Qiuzi did not know how she was supposed to celebrate this birthday for him. Just saying happy birthday?
