Chapter 20: Don’t be afraid (3)

She looked up at him cautiously, but she saw Guan Lin looking at her with emotions that she could not understand.

“Very well.” Guan Lin granted the leave.

Su Qiuzi was relieved. She gave her boss a bow and then left in a haste. Guan Lin looked at her slender back and let out a sigh in his mind.

It used to be a family affair, but now it’s a husband affair, and married women have a lot of things to do. It was saddening to think of this female student carrying the burden of her family at such a young age.

Su Qiuzi stood at the side of the horse pasture, feeling the pressure of a burden no less than that of a family. When she confirmed it, the trainer looked behind her and smiled helplessly. Su Qiuzi was just about to turn back when the reins in her hand were pulled over. At the same time, someone jumped over onto her horse, and the horse moved in time with the man’s movements.

This small movement scared Su Qiuzi out of her mind. She let out an “oops” and leaned forward to hold the horse’s head, but her waist was held by a strong hand, pulling her body back slightly.

Su Qiuzi’s body was like a fallen leaf. All at once, she was pulled into the man’s arms. Su Qiuzi leaned back against a broad chest and, startled, she smelled a familiar, refreshing aroma of fruitwood.

“Don’t be afraid.” He Yu held her body in place and whispered a soothing word in her ear.

After being held by He Yu, Su Qiuzi surprisingly forgot to be afraid.

Seeing that she was emotionally stable, He Yu let go of his hand and held her hand to get the reins. As soon as the hand had left, it was pressed back into her waist by her.

When He Yu made a move, he lowered his head and tried to speak, only to find that the woman in his arms was still trembling softly.
