MDWMSEIPL: Chapter 8.3

Chapter 8: Moonlit Hero (3)

The Tang Song Nian’s grunt signified his even sourer mood.

Fine, he would be the last one in the family.

Xu Yunyao ignored the “old father” pouting behind her. She frowned and stared at the face in the bronze mirror.

Yes, although she was still young, her facial features looked quite delicate, not worse than her original appearance. It was just that she was young and ate well, so she had a round, chubby face.

She squeezed the meat on her cheeks, and suddenly, she screamed in her heart.

No wonder the old fart (Tang Song Nan) and her plump mother (Ruan-shi) liked to pinch her face so much. It had just too much meat there, soft and slippery to touch. If it was not her own face, she would have liked to pinch it from time to time.

So fat, do you want to leave the impression of a fat girl in the heart of the future young hero? In that case, it was not as good as the image of the young maid in her previous life!

With a bitter expression, she turned sad.

Even if I don’t have the chance to chat with my moonlit hero in this life, at least, I will leave the best impression in his heart. Only in this way could she not waste her life’s ‘humiliation’ as the daughter of the old man.

Tang Songnian and Ruan-shi saw the little girl staring curiously at the bronze mirror. For a while, she giggled and smiled happily. And after that, she wrinkled her face with a sad expression. Several changes later, the expression on her face was so rich that she couldn’t help laughing.

Tang Songnian finally couldn’t resist. He stepped forward to replace Bi Wen, who was holding the little girl. He leaned his face on her and squeezed out the round cheeks in the bronze mirror.

Xu Yunyao saw the most annoying face suddenly appearing in the mirror. She stretched out her meaty hands to push the face out of the mirror that made her upset.

“Go, go, go!”

What a disgusting old man! I don’t want to see your face!

Tang Songnian laughed out and gave up half of the mirror. A big and a small face appeared in the bronze mirror at the same time.

“This is a bronze mirror. This is Little Treasure, and this is Father. Well, just at first glance, one can tell that we’re a father-and-daughter pair,” Tang Songnian proudly spoke.

It was said that the son looked like his mother, and the daughter took after her father.

Xu Yunyao shivered and looked at him strangely.

Is this old man suffering from some eye disease? Where are the two faces even half alike? If my face really looked like him, I’d cry to death!

Tang Songnian couldn’t understand her expression. Seeing her daughter staring at him, he was thrilled and couldn’t help coaxing her to call her father.

Xu Yunyao directly turned her back and reached out to Ruan-shi. “Hug.”

Ruan-shi smiled and picked her up.

That night, Xu Yunyao had a dream. In it, she was still assigned as a little maid on duty in the East Palace. She was presently kneeling on the ground with a pale face as her brain ran at full speed, thinking about various ways to get out of the current predicament.

The scene around her was full of gloats, satire, contempt, and even indifference to her life or death.

What made her even more desperate was that the Crown Prince coldly declared his sentence without waiting for her to speak.

“Drag—”

Her body trembled slightly with fear, and just as she felt that she might die this time, a cold, careless voice rang inside the hall.

“What are you doing there on your knees? Why are you not coming and pouring wine for this General?”

She raised her head and looked in the direction of the voice. Under the candlelight, the man’s sword-shaped eyebrows were lightly wrinkled; his eyes were like stars; and his handsome face was slightly displeased.

At that moment, all the light in the hall seemed to gather on this man, so dazzling and so warm, as if the chill in her body was immediately dissipated.

In a dimly lit room in the inner office of the western courtyard, six-year-old He Shaoting was tearfully holding a small gray jacket worn during the day, with several rough stitches on it.

Except for this silently crying child, no one knew that there were several large silver tickets and a letter hidden in this rough jacket.
